A Bold Declaration
In the middle of the pageant, Miss Kansas made a shocking announcement that left the audience gasping.
“Some of you out in this audience saw me very emotional because my abuser is here today,” she revealed, her voice unwavering.
The bravery it took to confront her past on such a public stage was nothing short of remarkable.

“But that’s not going to stop me from being on this Miss Kansas stage and representing as the next Miss Kansas,” she continued. Her words resonated deeply, emphasizing that everyone deserves to live free from domestic violence.
Viral Sensation
The confession didn’t just stay within the confines of the pageant hall. In addition, Miss Kansas shared a clip of her powerful moment on her social media, and it spread like wildfire. The video, captioned “Respect Reclaimed!”, garnered over 53 thousand views in no time.
Social media erupted with support and admiration. “YOU GO GIRL. YOU make me proud of my home state,” wrote one commenter.
Another added, “What an amazing way to take your power back. I got goosebumps.” The public’s reaction was overwhelmingly positive. This was a highlight of the impact of her bravery.
Personal Journey
Miss Kansas’ journey to this moment was not easy. She opened up about her experiences with domestic violence, both within her family and her personal life.
“My family, every single woman in my family, was impacted by domestic violence,” she shared in an interview.

Her own struggle began at the age of 14 when she found herself in an abusive relationship. The abuse continued until about 2018, 2019.
Speaking candidly, she revealed, “It’s something that I’m still experiencing and dealing with today.”
Her commitment to ending domestic violence is deeply personal. “As Miss Kansas, my platform is deeply rooted in empowering people to break free from cycles of domestic violence and unhealthy relationships,” she stated.
Her goal is to create a world where everyone feels safe and valued. Thus, through the Miss America program, she found a powerful platform to amplify her voice and advocate for those who feel silenced or alone.
Turning Pain into Purpose
The night of the pageant was a turning point for Miss Kansas. On Facebook, she wrote about how someone she had been healing from tried to disrupt her peace. Instead of falling into silence, she chose to live out her vision for a better world.

“I took back my power – not just for myself, but for my dreams and everyone watching and listening,” she stated.
She added, “This isn’t about shunning others. It’s about turning our pain into purposes and channeling it in a way that unifies and uplifts.”
Miss Kansas hopes to spread her message to the youth in Kansas, using her skills in ventriloquism to reach them. Her talent during the Miss Kansas contest was ventriloquism, something she has been perfecting for 19 years. She plans to create ventriloquism dolls that symbolize healthy relationship characteristics. Consequently, she’ll teach children the importance of respect and kindness.
