Interior decorating and designing your house could be intimidating, but with the right tools, you can create a space that you adore and that reflects your personality with ease.
Adding art pieces across your home is one way to add character, dimension and personality to your house. But theDifficult thing about having art pieces is the cost that can add up so the latest trends in home interior designing is incorporating posters in your home. Posters are a great way to add a pop. They can be customized and hung in beautiful frames to be used as an anchor point with which you can coordinate any new art around the central poster.
Here are some tips to add posters to your home without them looking tacky and cheap.
Consider the size:
The most common mistake people make when hanging posters in their rooms is underestimating or overestimating the size of their room. The easiest way to find the most suitable size for your room is to measure your walls and whatever size you think you need for that blank wall, get the next size up to fully cover the wall and give your poster the center stage.

This is because when you measure the size for your work of art to be hung, you only consider it from up close but posters are something that people usually look at from afar. From a distance your art piece should be big enough to look magnificent and dictate the room.

Take inspiration from your art piece :
If you haven’t already decided on a color palette and theme for your room, use the colors in your poster or art piece to build the theme around it. If you don’t have a scheme in mind already, (don’t worry, most people don’t) then picking and choosing two to three main colors from your posters and art works and setting them as a theme really pulls the room together. You can add pillows, curtains and rugs in the same colors to tie it all together and give it a pop of color.

Do not overlook theme:
When you build a room around a central poster, do not only select pieces of furniture and accessories to match in color, but also in theme. Colors help what you see, but themes are what make you feel when you enter a room. So if your poster is retro art, add pieces of furniture that complement it not only in color but in the idea as well. The things around your poster should invoke the same feelings when you look at the poster.
